Waitomo is a word that is dervived from the Maori words “wai” which means water and “tomo” which means hole.  The Waitomo Glowworm Caves attraction are located on the North Island of New Zealand. The caves are well known for their enormous population of glowworms, which are exclusive to New Zealand. The glowworms are the size of the average mosquito  This attraction has organized tours and provides a boat ride under the glowworms.
