The White Sands National Monument is one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. The white glistening sands make their home right in the heart of the Tularosa Basin. The New Mexican dunes of gypsum sand cover 275 square miles of desert. The National Monument is the world’s largest gypsum dune field and reaches an elevation of 4235 feet. The white sand is simply breathtaking.
